It was another fine
day for the LFBC Good Works Ministry.
There were four of us present at today's session who enjoyed fellowship and needleworking …
CO, JP, LB, and MEW.
LB brought some fresh
veggies from her garden to share. Fresh tomatoes, zucchini, lettuce, and
fragrant garlic … yum!
CO contributed four items in support of challenges: an adult’s hat, a young child's hat complete with pompom, and two caps for newborns made with very soft yarn in traditional "baby" colors. Pics to follow.
JP continued knitting
booties … lovely in white.
Persistent LB restarted
her lapghan/afghan yet again. She mastered the pattern and is now well on
her way to a “golden” afghan.
MEW was busy getting
LB off to a good start on her lapghan/afghan (TBD), so she didn't accomplish
much on the throw she’s making for her “Favorite Brother-in-Law.” She shared a sample pot holder as an example
of an item that might fit in well as a Relay for Life 2017 fund raiser.
JP brought
instructions for the basic "Afghan Stitch.” She shared a pot holder made in the AS over 30 years ago -- it's still pretty, sturdy, and functional. To consider: A square (any size) of fabric made in the Afghan Stitch can
serve as a background for counted cross-stitch embellishments.
The next meeting of
the group will be held on Monday; August 15, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM … hope
you can join us!
